Lok Sabha Election Constituency-wise Results Highlights: Congress call verdict 'moral defeat for Modi', BJP manages just above 240 on its own
Muted celebrations were seen outside the BJP camps across the country as thesaffron party failed to get a majority of its own in Lok Sabha elections. Congress claimed it was a mandate against PM Narendra Modi even as it showed readiness to explore opportunities of government formation saying it will decide on further action on Wednesday after meeting with allies. Among the most decisive mandate was Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Kerala, Punjab which chose the Congress and the opposition parties. A beaming Rahul Gandhi hailed the SP and Congress win in UP while Mamata, basking in the glory of her party's sizeable win in the TMC's home state, said PM Modi should resign as he has lost his credibility. As BJP faltered, the party's ally in Telangana swept the state while BJP took away Odisha from 'bada babu' Naveen. As we near the end of an exhaustive day and the elections, the BJP is poised to win just above 240 on its own while the Congress looks to add a tally of 100 to its kitty, the EC data showed. 14 seats are yet to give a final number. Odisha Assembly Election Results Highlights: BJP set to end Naveen Patnaik's rule
The Odisha Assembly election results are set to be declared today. The BJP has comfortably crossed the halfway mark and is leading in 78 seats, while BJD has been reduced to only 51 assembly seats. In a shocker to BJD, even CM Naveen Patnaik is trailing from Kantabanji seat. LS Results Highlights: BJP-led NDA set to return for third term
