Big B to be discharged from hospital tomorrow

Mumbai, Feb 12,2012, (PTI)

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who underwent an abdominal surgery Saturday, is recovering fast and will be discharged from hospital tomorrow, sources said today.

The 69-year-old actor, who has a history of stomach ailments, was operated upon at the Seven Hills Hospital in suburban Andheri though the authorities there remained tight-lipped about the exact nature of Bachchan's ailment.

"He is recovering and will be discharged tomorrow," a source quoting a hospital official told PTI.

On February 9, Bachchan had revealed on his blog about the pains he has had, saying he would have to undergo surgery.

Bachchan had suffered a near fatal intestinal injury while filming a fight scene in 1982 movie 'Coolie'.

Last night, he thanked his fans on Twitter for their wishes and prayers.

"Back...!! Thank you for your prayers... your love and wishes never fail... indebted for life, one that I shall never be able to pay back. Took almost 5 hrs on the OT, but could feel the concern and wishes of the TwFmXt every minute... you all are incredible... thank you," he had tweeted.

"Took long because 2 surgeries had to be done on either side...," he had said.
Following the surgery, his son Abhishek had tweeted yesterday that all was well.

"Thank you all for your wishes and prayers. The surgery went off well and dad is now in the room resting," he said.
