Mango Mela: Mango growers to get marketing facilities

Horticulture Department Additional Director Dr Amrith Sudhakar recently said that the mango growers could sell their stocks directly to consumers, at the Mango Mela, to held in Lalbagh at Bangalore in the month of May.
He was speaking after inaugurating an interaction programme for mango growers, held under the aegis of the Horticulture Department. He called upon the farmers to make full use of the mela.
University of Agriculture Lecturer Dr Mukund urged the farmers to concentrate on the quality of mangoes, and accordingly use scientific methods in the management of their farms.
He called upon the farmers to make use of traditional methods to tap whatever ground water resources were available.
Dr S V Hittalamani urged the farmers to give as much impetus to mango marketing as given to agricultural activities.
Progressive farmer Sharath spoke on the marketing potential in other states for mangoes.
Mango Growers’ Co-operative Association President B Siddareddy, District Horticulture Department Deputy Director C K Munibairappa, Taluk Horticulture Department Assistant Director K N Sureshchandra participated in the programme.
