Adequate water supply assured to Ashoknagar area

City Municipality Council member T G Narasimharaju has assured residents of Ashoknagar that their drinking water problems would be solved in a few days.
He gave this assurance at the executive committee meeting of Ashoknagar Citizens’ Hitarakshana Samithi.
A new borewell was drilled at Ashoknagar 4th cross to get only about four inches of water. He said urgent steps are being taken to solve the drinking water problem by quickly fixing the pipes. He said if water from the toilets are connected to the sewerage pipe, roads will be asphalted at the earliest.
Some members complained that development is confined to only a few areas which enjoy certain amount of influence and clout.
Mr Narasimharaju assured of taking serious steps to correct the anomalies.
Presiding over the meet, Prof G Puttaramaiah said if awareness is created among the citizens about the need to employ rainwater harvesting methods, 30 per cent of the drinking water problems can be addressed.
