Regularisation of illegal pumpsets

Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company (CESCOM) will regularise the illegal pumpsets in the district till April 30.The illegal pumpsets in use till last December can be regularised. Accordingly, farmers can utilise this opportunity by paying Rs 10,000 and the minimum deposit for one year. For more details farmers can contact the nearest CESCOM officials, the executive engineer of the company said in a release.

Counselling for teachers

Counselling will be conducted for the candidates who have been selected for Grade-2 assistant Physics teachers to the government higher primary schools which have 8th standard in the district.

The final list of the selected teachers has been already announced, Deputy Director of Public Instruction has said.

The candidates who have been appointed in Hassan district have been directed to appear for counselling on April 20 from 10.30 am to 5 pm.

Award ceremony put off

The anniversary celebrations and award presentation ceremony of Hassan Zilla Lekhakiyara Balaga, proposed to be held on April 24, have been postponed to May 1. A decision to this effect was taken at an emergency meeting of the Balaga. Leelavathi, president of the Balaga, chaired the meeting. Sulochana Krishnegowda was elected as the vice-president of the Balaga on the occasion.

Water sports contest soon

Department of Youth Affairs and Sports has is holding a water sports competition for men at Hemavathy reservoir from April 26. Trekking camp will be held at Kumaradhara hills from April 23. Interested young and women can participate in the competitions. The candidates must be mentally and physically sound. They must have fire and general insurance policies of Application forms are available at the office of the department. Registration must be made within 20. KDP meeting tomorrow

Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) meeting has been convened at Zilla Panchayath Hoysala auditorium on April 21. District In-charge Minister H D Revanna will chair the meeting, according to a press release.
