GU exams rescheduled
In the wake of theft of six question papers of Gulbarga University from the Government First Grade College at Hagaribimmanhalli in Bellary district on April 8, the university was forced to postpone the examinations in these subjects. In a note, Gulbarga University Registrar (Evaluation) T B Koli stated that these examinations had now been rescheduled.
The new dates on which these six examinations would be held are, BA II Year Political Science (April 27, at 2:00 pm), BCom II Year Economics Analysis (April 27, at 2:00 pm), BA I Year Kannada-optional (April 28, at 9:00 am), BCom I Year Economics Analysis (April 28, at 9:00 am), BA II Year English-Basic (April 28, at 2:00 pm), and BA I Year Sociology (April 28, at 9:00 am).
Hindi meet tomorrow
The Gulbarga Town Official language Implementation Committee meeting is being held at the Telecom head office in Gulbarga at 3:30 pm on April 21. In a note, committee Convenor H C Rathod stated that Gulbarga Telecom General Manager K Sampat Kumar, who is the committee chairman, would be presiding over the meet. Mr Rathod has asked all the Union Government employees working in Gulbarga to attend this meet.
Illegal toddy seized
The Enforcement & Investigation wing of the Excise Department has detected illegal tapping of toddy from 40 wild palm trees at Herur village in Gulbarga district, and has seized 10 liters of toddy from Tuljayya Guttedar, and Srinivas Guttedar. A note from the department stated that, in another case, the officials had seized 20 liters of illegal toddy stored in a house at Shahabad town, and arrested one Eshwar Kalal. Also, during raids at different places in Chittapur taluk, 480 liters of toddy, 180 liters of wash, and 30 liters of spurious arrack were destroyed by the officials.
