BUZZ IN BANGALORE
Sunday Jam

The Levis Sunday Jam, a live interactive event, is conducted by Guruskool on the first Sunday of every month in Bangalore. Sunday Jams are a platform to promote original music.

It is a hot bed of creativity where all the Bangalore bands are born and nourished.

The Sunday Jam, to be held on March 4, has a British punk band called ‘The Usual Suspects’, ‘Pretentious Depths’ from Surathkal, and ‘Legato Lilac’ an all girls band from Bangalore apart from ‘Altered Scales’, ‘Theorised’, ‘Ek’, ‘Haven’, ‘Spellbound’ etc. The Jam will be held at Samsa Open Air Amphitheatre, Ravindra Kalakshetra, J C Road at 5.30 pm. Vipassana meditation

Ten-day residential training courses on Vipassana Meditation is conducted by the Vipassana Meditation and Research Centre on the fifth and the 20th of every month. The next batch of Vipassana Meditation, beginning March 5, will impart techniques to keep tension, depression, anger, anxiety and harmful habits like drinking or smoking, at bay.

Play reading

International Music & Arts Society presents ‘Peter Parnell’s Q.E.D’ on Friday March 2 at 7.15 pm at the Alliance Francaise. Staged by Theatre Commune, the event is a dramatised play reading based on the life of Nobel laureate Richard Feynman. Tickets priced at Rs 100 are available at The Café, AFB.

There are only two actors on stage, Feynman and one of his students, Ms. Field, who comes on stage for a short while. There are a number of voices on the phone. Direction S V Krishnamurthy, the cast includes Richard Feynman (Shahid Siddiqui), Miriam Field (Namita Suresh), voices - Radhika, Usha, Jayadev, Gautam.

Fiction for fun

EasyLib.com, the online library, is hosting 'Read On', where in a storyteller will lead children into the world of fiction through narration and character dramatisation. Neeta from Kathalaya will entertain the children with the many adventures of a baby elephant from the book 'Robi Dobi' by Madhur Jaffrey.

Woman’s Day bash

The Bangalore Toastmasters Club is celebrating International Women’s Day on March 2. In action will be all the women toastmasters of the Club.
