Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) will soon embark on Greenhouse Gas Inventory (GHG) for Greater Bangalore.
According to KSPCB Chairman H C Sharatchandra, the inventory is a first step towards evaluating emission findings in key sectors and introduction of measures to control the same. GHG emissions from industry, transportation and agriculture play a major role in global warming. Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and three groups of fluorinated gases is the subject of the Kyoto Protocol.
GHG emission estimates are required in order to comprehend the current state and simulate the future growth of GHG and work towards sustainability and corrective actions, a KSPCB press release stated. KSPCB has announced that Enzen Global Solutions, the Bangalore-based Business Consulting and Solutions provider, would provide consulting services on the inventory.
