 Indian doctor's frustration is justified
What awaits me here is a system that does not uphold the nobility of my profession anymore. Will I be a misfit in a system that to a large extent stifles the desire to offer self-less and honest service? In a non-conducive work environment, dwindling work ethic, a thoroughly under-remunerated career compared to other available career opportunities in the market - a system where "health" is available only to the few who can afford it? These questions have now begun to haunt me repeatedly. Dr Kshitij Mankad, UK

MAGNIFICIENT MUNNAR

A photo of the rare Nilgiri Tahr which is said to be found mostly in Munnar.
Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district of Kerala, Munnar was the
favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Unending
expanse of tea plantations - pristine valleys and hills- exotic species of flora and
fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests - aroma of spice scented cool air makes
Munnar an idyllic tourist destination. Photos sent by B A Jagannath
