Does Learning Disability cause emotional problems in children?

Research shows that a vast majority of children with learning disabilities do have some emotional problem associated with LD. Teachers should look out for both educational and emotional areas when they identify that a child has a learning problem. It may not always be possible to pin point which of the two factors is responsible for the child’s performance; but it is imperative that teachers try and find out the family background and set-up of the child’s home environment with the help of a counsellor. One leads to the other and this is a ‘vicious circle’.
