Lara leads WI to series win
A Lara explosion was always waiting to happen; that it happened in front of his home fans was no coincidence, for the 37-year-old is a proud Trinidadian.
Uthappa likely to play in fifth one-dayer
Nothing more than pride is at stake for India; for West Indies, though, even if the stakes are a lot less given that they have already ....
Chappell’s remarks spurred us, says Lara
Lara said Ramnaresh Sarwan’s undefeated 98 in the second game in Kingston had been the most important moment of the series..
‘Second ODI was crucial’
Dravid added that there were specific areas India had to address as regards playing in the Caribbean, particularly the lengths the bowlers bowled and the batting in the end overs of the innings.
I just backed my ability, says Bravo
Bravo had already stamped his mark with his trademark slower deliveries that India have found near impossible to fathom.

 Indian doctor's frustration is justified
What awaits me here is a system that does not uphold the nobility of my profession anymore. Will I be a misfit in a system that to a large extent stifles the desire to offer self-less and honest service? In a non-conducive work environment, dwindling work ethic, a thoroughly under-remunerated career compared to other available career opportunities in the market - a system where "health" is available only to the few who can afford it? These questions have now begun to haunt me repeatedly. Dr Kshitij Mankad, UK

MAGNIFICIENT MUNNAR

A photo of the rare Nilgiri Tahr which is said to be found mostly in Munnar.
Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district of Kerala, Munnar was the
favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Unending
expanse of tea plantations - pristine valleys and hills- exotic species of flora and
fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests - aroma of spice scented cool air makes
Munnar an idyllic tourist destination. Photos sent by B A Jagannath

Need for an Upper House
Nomination of politicians to the Karnataka Legislative Council is the hot topic for discussion among the people of the state now.
Nomination of full-time politicians by both the coalition partners of the state government has raised many an eyebrow..While some readers have advocated that the Upper House should be
abolished in the present political scenario, others feel it is still debatable whether we should continue with the present system or not.
