JD(S) supremo, who arrived in Hassan from Channarayapatna on Friday, visited some areas seeking votes for the party candidates. Opposition parties objected to it and complained to election observer Medha Gadgil.
When he went to rest at former MP H K Javaregowda’s residence, headquarters assistant Subraya Kamath tried to explain him that he could only campaign in area where he was eligible to cast ballot.
Meanwhile, DC Anjum Parvez also gathered details about the code of conduct for VIPs and also contacted Chief Electoral Officer M N Vidyashankar.
Gowda tried to contact the Central Election Commission officials in the presence of media persons and explained to them that he would not conduct any public campaigning. However, he did not get any clear answer from them.
Later, Gowda left for Holenarasipur.
