Five held, cash seized

Bangalore, dhns: Five persons who were distributing currency notes to voters in Bhavani Nagar, in the Padmanabhanagar constituency were arrested on Friday, and a sum of Rs 1.08 lakh cash seized from them, according to Bangalore City Deputy Commissioner M A Sadiq.

The persons arrested have been identified as Lokesh, Kumar, Satish, Murali and Mohan. Police have seized 217 envelopes containing Rs 500 note each.

The five people arrested are said to be Congress workers.

Lok Paritran set for maiden fight

Bangalore, dhns: Along with several other political parties, Saturday will also be the D-Day for Lok Paritran, a party started by IITians. The party has fielded 11 candidates in the first phase. The party is fighting its maiden assembly election.
