Jaffer Sharief denies appeal
Bangalore: Former union minister and senior Congress leader C K Jaffer Sharief on Friday clarified that he had not appealed to the Muslim voters to vote only for candidates of their community in the Assembly elections.
In a press release issued here on Friday, C K Jaffer Sharief said, “it has come to my notice that some mischievous elements have issued a pamphlet stating that I had appealed to the Muslim voters to vote only for Muslim candidates, which is false and far from truth,” he added.
Boycott polls, says CPI-ML
Bangalore: CPI-ML today appealed voters to boycott the assembly elections in Karnataka, terming it as a “dirty politics for power” played by political parties.
Congress and BJP are two faces of a coin and Janata Dal (Secular) is a party of father and sons, CPI-ML said in a press release issued here on Friday.
These political parties instead of improving the living conditions of people have been engaged in promising freebies like rice and colour television to get votes, the party has alleged.
