Blore model to star with SRK
DH News Service, New Delhi :

Pipping a large number of hopefuls to the post, Bangalore girl Anushka Sharma has emerged as the chosen new face to star against King Khan in Aditya Chopra’s highly-publicised third directorial venture Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
The Bangalore model, said Yash Raj Films (YRF) in an announcement, would star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the film that will be directed by Chopra, who had made Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, one of the all-time hits of Bollywood.

“We were looking first and foremost for someone who could truly embody the spirit of small town Punjab and we know we have found her in Anushka,” YRF chairman Yash Chopra said in the announcement. “While she has no previous acting experience, we have seen that unique spark in her that makes us confident that she will  stand out even opposite Shah Rukh,” he said.

Rab ne Bana di Jodi, the third directorial venture of the reclusive Aditya Chopra, who last directed Mohabbatein eight years ago, will go on the floors on the May 16 and will hit theatres worldwide on December 12.
Speculation had been rife on the new face to star against Khan, particularly as there were reports that Chopra had been simultaneously shooting with several young girls to test their screen presence.
