The K G Halli police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse a group of people, which tried to barge into an election photo ID card distribution centre at Parijatha school campus.

The police said a large number of people, including women, had assembled in front of the centre on Tannery Road and the situation went out of control when many of them tried to forcefully enter the office. As the people did not heed to warnings, the policemen resorted  to lathi-charge. The corporation authorities suspended the issue of ID cards and closed down the centre for some time.
