Of the 30,944 students appeared for the examination, 22,674 students have passed. As many as 28 schools have secured cent per cent results in the district.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, Nodal Officer Ramachandra Gowda said as many as 28,835 fresh students had taken up the examination. Of the total, 22,339 have passed with a pass percentage of 77.47 per cent. This include 1,687 distinctions, 9,148 first classes, 6,015 second classes, and 5,489 III class.
Bantwal taluk has achieved 72 per cent pass percentage with 202 distinction, 1,346 I class, 1,080 II class and 1,076 III class. Vittal Jaycee English Medium School has secured cent per cent in the taluk. Vidyagiri High School Bantwal’s Rupal Tauro has secured first in the taluk with 609/625.
Sullia taluk has secured 78.56 pass percentage with 105 distinctions, 537 I class, 424 II class, and 324 III class.
Jnana Ganga High School (Bellare), Sathya Saai English Medium School (Chokkadi), Kumaraswamy High School (Subramanya) and Sneha High School Sullia have secured cent per cent results. Chaithra P of Rotary English Medium School, Sullia has secured highest marks in the taluk 605/625).
In Belthangady taluk, three schools have secured cent per cent result. They include SDM English Medium School, Ujire; Sacred Heart English Medium High School, Madanthyar; Saraswathi English Medium High School, Mundaje.
Sachin Gokhale S R has scored highest in the taluk with 611/625. Belthangady taluk has secured 80.38 pass percentage.
Mangalore rural has secured 74.02 pass percentage in the SSLC examination. A total of nine schools have secured cent per cent results. This include Government High School (Chithrapu), Government High School (Nadugodu), Balaha English Medium School Talapady, Ansar English Medium School (Bajpe), Al Badriya English Medium School (Krishnapura Katipalla), Mahalingeshwara English Medium School (Surathkal), Holy Family English medium school (Surathkal), Hiyath High School (Soorinje), Nithya Sai Matha School (Farangipete). Sajitha Nayak of NMPT School, Panambur has scored highest marks in the taluk with 609/625.
In Mangalore City, as many as three schools have secured cent per cent result. They are Nalanda English Medium School, St Joseph English Medium school, and Nobel English Medium School. The total pass percentage is 85.15. Rashmi R Shenoy of Canara Girls High School, Dongarkery has secured highest marks with 615/625 followed by Varsha 614/625 and Sindhu 611/625 from the same school.
Morarji Desai Residential School, Kallabettu, Rotary English Medium School, St Thomas English Medium School and Mohammadiya English Medium School have secured cent per cent results in Moodabidri.
Mr Gowda said “there are no zero per cent result in the district. Though DK district’s position has dipped down to 10, the district has highest number of distinctions, first classes and the number of third class pass is also less when compared to other districts.”
In Udupi
Even in Udupi, the pass percentage has dipped to 79.44 per cent this year from 84 per cent in 2007. Among the five blocks, Karkala has secured 83.11 pass percentage. All the 210 high schools have secured above 50 per cent pass percentage. Kody Government High School has secured the lowest pass percentage of 51 in the district.
The results in other zones are as follows: Baindur (74.62), Brahmavar (81.48 per cent), Kundapura (80.96 %) and Udupi (77.41 %). As many as 11 high schools have secured cent per cent results. They are St Mary’s High School (Udupi), Don Bosco High School (Shirva), St Francis High School (Mudarangady), Nitte Dr NSAM High School, S R High School (Hebri), V K R Acharya High School (Kundapura), Composite PU College, Venkatramana High School.
Megha Bhat and Shreyas K of Karkala Bhuvanendra High School have secured highest marks in the district (98.24 per cent).
