Help desks will be set up at cluster polling stations, where more than two polling booths are functioning.
In the previous elections voters were approaching polling agents employed by party candidates to get their roll numbers. In order to avoid this the EC has decided to set up help desks. The help desk staff will have voters’ list prepared in alphabetical order. The voters will be informed about their roll number and the booth where they can cast their vote. As many as 4,377 polling stations will be set up in the limits of 21 assembly constituencies, which fall under the BBMP limits. Of 4,377 polling stations, 1,100 are new stations, which were not set up in the previous elections. More than 24,000 employees of various departments have been appointed for the election work.
