. The event drew audience of all ages who spent their evening appreciating good music. The event had the crowd swaying to foot tapping music and peppy numbers, that were well-composed by the trio using melodic guitar riffs, fast bass lines and intense drumming.
The evening began with jazz enthusiasts settling down as the band took stage and played numbers lasting an average of 12-13 minutes. Their songs had unique blend of rock and pop that give the jazz scene a whole new feel.
As Frank Wingold kept the audience informed about the timing in the songs, he also had them laughing to his little jokes. Describing one of his songs Frank said, “Here’s a number you can listen to on a cold winter night... wait... there are no cold nights here.” The audience could also purchase their CD at the end of the concert.
The variation in music could be seen as every song had a different sound and drummer, Joost Lijbaart, used a variety of sticks including one similar to a brush. The songs slowly progressed from the slow jazz to rock and back.
Frank Wingold expressed his joy on having to perform for an audience like the one in Bangalore and said they enjoyed being in the City.
AGOG started in September 2001 and the band comprises guitarist Frank Wingold, drummer Joost Lijbaart and bass guitarist Mark Haanstra. They have created a mark for themselves in the jazz music circuits around the world. According to guitarist Frank Wingold, “The band does not have one specific instrument standing out unlike the 30s jazz scene. In our tunes we have all the instruments playing an equal part.”
