Undeterred by the scorching sun and the light rain, candidates and their supporters carried out a brisk campaign on Thursday, the last day of campaigning for the first phase of polling scheduled on May 10.

In Shivajinagar, where it is a straight fight between the Congress candidate R Roshan Baig and the BJP candidate Nirmal Kumar Surana, groups of supporters of both the candidates were seen repeating a door-to-door campaign.

In Govindrajnagar, autorickshaws mounted with public address system, which were absent from the election scene all these days, were seen on the streets.
