Rudraksha exhibition held
Pallavi Koppar

Rudrakshas are powerful beads known for their effects, enhancing spiritualism and positive effects on health and prosperity. An exhibition of rudrakshas from the Himalayas was on at Hotel Chalukya recently. The exhibition was organised by  Indo-Nepal Rudraksha Organisation, headed by director of the organisation Dr G Panduranga Rao.
“The ‘rudrakshas’ are priced from Rs 50 to Rs 22 lakh and can be generally divided into three varieties -

Rudraksha, Padaksha and Chandraksha. But there are as many as 27 varieties,” he adds. It is also differentiated with faces or ‘Mukhis’ and there are upto 21 ‘Mukhis’. Each  ‘Mukhi’ rudraksha has unique significance and effect. Among these rudrakshas, 21-mukhi rudraksha or the rudraksha with 21 faces is the rarest of all.  The idea behind organising these exhibitions every year is to create awareness among public on rudrakshas. It also guides people to be aware of the fake ‘rudrakshas’ being sold which has no value or effect. The exhibition also had ‘Spatika Malas’, ‘Navarathan Malas’, ‘Spatika Lingam’, ‘Japa Malas’, ‘Rudraksha Malas’.  Exclusive jewellery for ladies were also on display.
