Paritran State President B T Naganna told reporters here on Monday, “the Rs 550 crore the BBMP hopes to raise through the CVS scheme will not take place as the matter has to be first debated by elected representatives in the Assembly.” The scheme will get postponed, he added.
Referring to last year’s budget, Naganna said instead of the planned 3,200 crore, they were able to raise only Rs 1,800 crore. Many projects have not been completed, he said. “A sum of Rs 5 crore was allotted for catching stray dogs but how is it that dogs roam around in a prime spot like the HAL international airport?” he said.
The grade separator at Malleswaram was supposed to be completed in June 2006 but lack of funds prevented it. The same was the reason for non-completion of grade separator at the Toll Gate and the elevated flyover from Madivala Circle to Electronics City on Hosur Road, he charged.
