Rahuls marketing drive at IISc draws flak
DH News Service,Bangalore:
The BJP on Monday took strong exception to youth Congress leader secretary Rahul Gandhi holding an interaction meeting with youth at IISc campus recently, alleging that the AICC General Secretary has politicised the countrys premier research institute.

The BJP on Monday took strong exception to youth Congress leader secretary Rahul Gandhi holding an interaction meeting with youth at IISc campus recently, alleging that the AICC General Secretary has ‘politicised’ the country’s premier research institute.
Addressing reporters in Bangalore, BJP Spokesperson Suresh Kumar said the IISc campus is never used for any political purposes. “But Rahul Gandhi made use of the institute to promote the Congress party in the name of holding interaction meeting with youth at J N Tata auditorium. Is this what he  wanted to do in Karnataka during his five-day tour?” he asked.
Objection
Raising objection to Rahul Gandhi’s statement that there is no internal democracy in any political parties, he said that the youth Congress leader should speak only about his party.
“It is because of high command politics in the Congress that Rahul became AICC general secretary at a young age,” Suresh Kumar noted.
Essential goods
On rising prices of essential commodities, Suresh Kumar alleged that the Congress-led UPA  Government had failed to control inflation rate in the country. “During the previous NDA regime, the inflation rate had not crossed four per cent, while now it has touched 6.68 per cent,” he stated.
The State BJP also released a list of essential goods, the prices of which have gone up over the last four years after the UPA government came to power.
Alleging that the UPA government had been meting out step-motherly treatment to the State, he said that of the total Rs 53,800 crore allocated for highways development in the country in the last four years, Tamil Nadu was allotted Rs 10,228 crore and Karnataka only Rs 2,081 crore.
