Addressing press persons here on Thursday, he said more than 25,000 devotees were expected to visit the temple each day of brahmakalashotsava, while the number might exceed one lakh during some prominent days.
Popularly known as the temple of Ananthapura lake, the pilgrim centre is also identified through a crocodile living there over several decades. Mr Karunakar said all the seven idols to be installed in the renovated temple have been made of ‘kadusharkara paka’, comprising 64 types of medicinal herbs, hence they would be of special attraction to the admirers.
Besides various religious rituals, cultural extravaganza will also be conducted each day. Yakshagana, kathakkali, ottamthullal, classical dance, music, harikatha and drama performances have been organised in Kannada, Tulu and Malayalam languages, he added.
