The pressure in the Congress party is building up, with several leaders in Tumkur boarding the flight to Delhi to lobby for the tickets.
Thus, as a result from past two days hardly any Congress leader can be spotted and the party office is quiet.
However, ever party ticket aspirant seems to be confident of securing a ticket to contest in the assembly elections. Also, several party leaders have already halted in Delhi to make sure that they speak to the party High Command and increase their chances of securing a ticket.
However, this kind of problem does not seem to have surfaced in JD(S) and BJP, as the issues are immediately sorted out in Bangalore.
Moreover, according to the probable list of the JD(S), all the selected candidates in the previous assembly elections securing a ticket is high.
However, C Chennigappa will probably be given a ticket to contest from Doddaballapur from the JD(S), as Koratgere is a reserved constituency..
There seems to be some discontent among the sincere BJP candidates and leaders who have been denied tickets.
S Mallikarjunaiah, a parliamentarian and senior BJP leader has himself rebelled in Tumkur. Also, he has cautioned that he would resign as an MP if senior leader C V Mahadevaiah is not issued ticket. Thus, Mr Mahadevaiah might contest from the Gubbi constituency in place of the BJP candidate.
Similarly, the tone of rebellion can be heard in the Congress party also.
“ If the Congress party does not offer me a ticket from Tumkur rural constituency, I will rebel against the officially selected candidate,” warned K L Prakash.
I am confident that I would be supported in my rebellion by several leaders. Thus, I am confident of emerging victorious if given a ticket, added Mr Prakash. In a similar vein JD(S) General Secretary B C Mahesh Kumar informed that if a local candidate is not given a ticket, then a rebellion is imminent.
