'Will quit if schemes not implemented'

BJP official candidate Somla Nayak has declared that in case if he is elected and fails to implement the permanent drinking water project, starting a women's college and give basic amenities to Pavagada taluk, then he will quit.


Addressing a press conference at his residence, here on Wednesday, he said along with the BJP State election manifesto, the taluk BJP had come out with its own manifesto where all these three schemes had been included.

This would be placed before the voters, he added.

The voters clearly know who is responsible for the election that no one wanted. Hence they should be taught a lesson, he said.

The election will be faced keeping Pavagada’s development and the party workers should bring to the notice of the public all the issues and work towards the victory of the BJP candidate, he said.

EO visits booths

With the first phase of the elections to be held on May 10, election officer V Gopal visited the sensitive booths in Naglamadike hobli in the taluk inspected, on Friday.

Along with the security to the voting centres, importance should also be given to cleanliness and a conducive atmosphere should be created for the voters to vote without any fear, he said.

More security will be provided to border villages and all arrangements had been made so that the voters can vote without any apprehension, he said.

He also received information regarding the problems of the villagers.

Superintendent Giriyappa and revenue officials were also present with the elecion officer.
