Mock the heat with these

Here are a few anytime           unusual mocktail combos to quench the thirst during the sizzling summer months.

Greens galore

Ingredients:
Palak (spinach) 2 cups (chopped); coriander leaves 1 cup; Radish tops 1 cup; Mint leaves 1 cup; Green chilli l/2piece; Salt to taste

Method: Wash and drain all the ingredients except salt. Blend in a mixie strain and add 2/3 cups of water and salt. Serve chilled. A great green nourisher indeed. Serves four

Veggie heaven

Ingredients:
Carrot gratings  2 cups; Beetroot gratings 1 cup; Tomato cubes 2 cups; Black grapes 1 cup; Salt to taste

Method: Put all the ingredients in mixie and blend well. Add two cups of water and drain. Serve chilled.

Fruit-veg punch

Ingredients:
Apple cubes 2 cups; Tomato cubes 1 cup; Carrot gratings 2 cups; Amla gratings or little juice 1 Tbsp; Salt and pepper powder to taste

Method: Put the first four ingredients in a blender and extract the juice. Strain and add one cup of water and stir in salt and pepper powder. Mix well and serve chilled.

Hint: To have any of these drinks first thing in the morning prepare the ingredients and keep in the fridge overnight. Blend and serve in the morning to save time.
