Lots of laughter, a little tear to shed and few punches to the ‘bad’ men, Santosh Subramaniyam romps through the heart of the audience with a message about parent-child relationship. Roping in Jayam Ravi for the fourth time, Director Raja once again gives a light-hearted family entertainer, dealing with the psyche of children and the importance of identifying their individuality.
Santosh Subramaniyam (Jayam Ravi) is the son of a stinking rich man (Prakash Raj). He gets more than what he wishes for. Santosh’s father chooses the best for him, never allowing him to express his likes and dislikes. He even selects a girl for Santosh and arranges for the wedding. It is then, the hero meets the heroine. Blithe Hasina (Genelia) enters the scene and Santosh falls for her innocence and cheerfulness.
A remake of Telugu film Bommarillu, it retains the fun and frolic of the former. Genelia’s experience as the female lead in Bommarillu makes her move with ease even in the Tamil movie. Jayam Ravi and Prakash Raj enthrall the audience with their wonderful performance.
Devi Sri Prasad’s pulsating music is a major highlight of the movie. Santosh Subramaniyam is a treat for the fun-loving people.
