Rats nibble away dead babys eye
DH News Service,Kolkata:

Rats that enjoy free run almost everywhere, proved their nimbleness after they managed to eat up one of the eyes of a new born girl from the morgue of the Barasat district Hospital in North 24 Parganas district, reports said here on Saturday.
Boishakhi, 19, gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday in the hospital but the infant died the next day and the body was kept in the hospital morgue. When the relatives came to receive the body on Saturday, they were shocked to see one of the eyes of the infant gouged by the rats.
The nursing superintendent of the hospital first noticed the mutilated body of the infant and informed authorities.
A high level committee, headed by the hospital superintendent has been formed to investigate the incident, reports said.
