The BJP this time will contest the election on the twin issues - development and stability and not on Hindutva.
Speaking on the sidelines of the party workers’ meeting in Bangalore on Saturday, BJP National Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said Hindutva is an ideology and life line, not the election agenda for the BJP.
On the issue of dissatisfaction among the party workers regarding distribution of tickets, he said it’s bound to happen but eventually, it’s the Party’s decision that counts. “Resentment and disappointment at not getting the tickets is common to all parties, more so in the case of the BJP because we are the front runners,” he said.
Regarding minorities, Naidu said, the BJP doesn’t believe in minoritism and discrimination.
In another party meeting, Naidu told reporters, that voting for the JD(S) or the SP will lead to instability and will cause hindrance to development. “The JD(S) and the SP are the ‘B teams’ of the Congress, who will join them after the polls. Voting for these parties would be nothing but the a repeat of the 2004 elections drama,” he said.
He added that the Assembly polls in Karnataka would be the semi-finals for the future Lok Sabha polls. Naidu said that the Congress has lost the moral right to continue at the Centre as it has failed to control inflation.
“The UPA Government claims that Inflation is hovering at 7.5 per cent but in reality it has touched 10 per cent. The ‘trimurthis’ of the Congress — Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia have become ‘Uttaramurthys,’ he said. Later, addressing the party workers at Nagenahalli in Hebbal constituency, he said the BJP is the only party, which can give a stable government.
