Many Rajendran supporters where also present at the time.
Incidently Betamangala B N Ramesh had also filed his nomination as independent candidate. Taking the number of nominations filed to two.
There might be no gold in the KGF but their is no dearth of politics. BJP in the town is already in the grip of rebellion. K Rajendran from the beginning was opposing the arrival and candidature of new entrants specially Y Sampangi.
Loyalist turns rebel
He filed nomination as a independent candidate alleging that giving tickets to the new entrants was a injustice committed on local workers and leaders. Rajendran’s nomination is a classic example of the turns and twists in the politics, as he once claimed himself to be a ardent party man.
But denying the ticket simply turned him to a rebel from loyalist. Accepting the radical change, Rajendran said that the doors of the reconciliation were still open and if the party seniors accept his candidature he will remain loyal to the party.
Money
He alleged that party under the sway of money were allotting tickets to the rich and was forgetting the workers who had strengthened the party in initial days.
He said that many people have supported his candidature and soon will be embarking on a padayatra in all the 35 wards of the town to campaign for the polls.
