Six senior officers from different parts of the country have been appointed observers for polls to the five constituencies in the district.

Madhya Pradesh’s Gowri Singh (for Chikkaballapura Assembly constituency), Tulsi Gaur of Uttar Pradesh (for the Bagepalli constituency), Sushil Kumar Negi from Himachal Pradesh (for Shidlaghatta constituency), West Bengal’s Sri Tamadas Meena (for Gowribidanur constituency) and V K Sharma from Punjab (for the Chintamani constituency), have been appointed as election observers, said deputy commissioner Subodh Yadav.

Suresh Babu from Goa has been appointed to oversee the expenditure for polls to the five constituencies. The Deputy director of the Weights and Measures Department, the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department, Zilla Panchayat Executive Engineer, Deputy director of the Women and Children’s Welfare Department, and the deputy director of the Land Survey Department have been appointed as public relations officers, the deputy commissioner said.
