Leaders return to Congress party
Srinivaspur, dhns: Loyal Congress activists, who were with former legislator G K Venkatashivareddy have quit JD(S) and joined their parent party, informed former Legislative Assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar.
He informed this at a press meet on Saturday, while seeking votes at areas dominated by minority communities. “ I have facilitated the joining of several leaders , who have quit the JD(S), to the Congress party. Four file nominations
Chikkaballapur, dhns: A total of four nominations were filed for polls to the five assembly constituencies in the district.
M Somashekhar will contest as an independent candidate in the Chikkaballapur constituency; BJP candidate N M Ravinarayana Reddy (for the Gowribidanur constituency), JD(S) candidate A Panchakshareddy (Shidlaghatta constituency), and independent candidate Babajaan (Bagepalli) have filed their nominations.
KRV opposes DMK move
Kolar, dhns: KRV district unit President K N Prabhakar has said that the DMK is planning to fields its candidate in the Kolar district for the upcoming assembly election in the Karnataka and has severely opposed the move of the party saying that it is a regional party.
