PERCH is bringing to the City an English play ‘Sangathi Arinhya’ (Have you heard?) on April 22 - 27 at Ranga Shankara.
This play is part of a festival called, ‘Under the Mangosteen Tree’, which celebrates the centenary year of the acclaimed writer Vaikkom Muhammad Basheer.
‘Have you heard' is an adventurous mix of seven stories, all different but with a common vein of love, humour and pathos running through them.
A connecting link in this heady concoction is the character of Basheer himself, who plays narrator, participant and witness in turn. These stories are blended together in a non-linear yet seamless narrative that reveals the extraordinary range of Basheer's writing and experiences.
Along with the play there will also be a photo exhibition of rare archival photos of Basheer called ‘Portraits of the Sultan’.
The cafe at Ranga Shankara will also serve special Moplah cuisine on all the days of the performance. You can contact PERCH at 9945108610.
