Students, who aspire to gain admission to the top engineering institutions across the country, are gearing up to write the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), to be held on April 27.
Candidates by appearing for the AIEEE are eligible to seek admission to Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Pharmacy degree courses. Each year the exam is conducted by CBSE and Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development along with the directives of the Central Government.
The entrance exam will consist of two papers, the first paper comprises three parts, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weightage with objective type questions for BE/B.Tech courses and second paper, consists of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing for B Architecture and B Planning. For each incorrect answer, one third of the total marks allotted to the question will be deducted. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as an incorrect response and will be marked negative. No answer marked will however fetch no deduction of total marks and hence students have to carefully mark the right answer.
Admit cards
The AIEEE admit cards have already been dispatched to all the eligible candidates. In case of students not receiving admit cards, they can download it from the AIEEE website http://aieee.nic.in. In case the status of candidates’ application is not available on the website and if the proof of dispatch of the form is with the candidate contact: AIEEE Unit, CBSE, PS-1-2, Institutional Area, I P Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110092 with original postal receipt and photocopy of the filled in application form.
KANNADA CET
Bangalore, dhns: The Common Entrance Test (CET) - 2008 for Gadinadu Kannadigas and Horanadu Kannadigas conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority(KEA) in its premises went on smoothly on Sunday.
Around 1,000 candidates appeared for the Kannada CET, of which 640 students were Gadinadu Kannadigas and 400 were Horanadu Kannadigas. About 100 candidates did not appear for the test. However, no incidents of malpractice and impersonation were reported.
Gadinadu and Horanadu students, who were unable to appear for the test on Sunday due to unavoidable circumstances are eligible to write the test on April 30, 11 am, KEA premises, Sampige Road, Malleswaram 18th cross, Bangalore-560012.
