Death on railway track

An unidentified male, around 45 years, committed suicide on Monday night by jumping on the tracks between Gowribidnur and Vidhurashwatta in Chikkballapur, said GRP inspector Udaya Bhaskar.
A search is on to identify the body, his relatives, he added.

Hotel staffers held for theft

Ashok Nagar police have nabbed three for stealing Rs 50,000 from the manager of Empire Hotel.
The case has been solved within 24 hours of the crime taking place.

Announcing this on Monday, Police Commissioner N Achuta Rao said the accused Kalandher (21), Mohammad Sihab (21) and Rafiq (21) had robbed Rs 50,000, a mobile phone and a wallet on midnight of March 29 from the manager who was returning from Garuda Mall.

The stolen cash was recovered from them.

Bike thief arrested

The Basavanagudi police have nabbed a 22-year-old youth Venkatagiri Gowda, accused of stealing motorcycles and recovered more than 20 bikes worth Rs four lakh.
Police said the accused used to roam about suspiciously at the parking lot, near the Karanji Anjaneya Swamy Circle and steal two-wheelers using duplicate keys.
