The programme was organised by Tibetan Youth Congress. It was in 1959 that Dalai Lama fled from China Occupied Tibet and sought refuge in India. Marking the celebration of this event, Buddhist monks lit candles on an open field and also demanded for a free Tibet.
Tibetan Youth Congress President Pema Tsewang demanded for liberty of Tibetans in Tibet and said that for this liberty they would adapt the ‘ahimsa’ policy preached by Mahatma Gandhiji.
Youth Congress Vice-President Tenzing Lodoi, Principal Secretary D G Migmar, Joint Secretary Yangten Tsering and other office bearers were present with hundreds of Bikshus.
