The revenue secretary had directed Bangalore DC to cancel the entries in the name of SBG Housing Pvt Ltd in August 2006. The company contended that they had purchased the land from NTI Employees Housing Cooperative Society. Allowing its petition, a HC single judge quashed the direction.
Government advocate Gangadhar Sangolli said, the land was originally acquired and handed over to NTI Society. Since, the society had not formed any layout and had transferred the land to a third party, cancellation of mutation entries was ordered, he said.
SSLC exam
The Court permitted Srinivasaprabhu, an SSLC student in Bapuji Memorial English High School, Bangalore, having shortage of attendance, to write the remaining papers of ongoing SSLC examinations. Justice Ashok B Hinchigeri passed an interim order to facilitate the same on payment of Rs 2,000 administrative expenses.
Apartments
The Court admitted a petition by a 73-year-old resident of ECC Road, Whitefield against the Consent For Establishment (CFE) granted by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board for a residential apartments in Pattandur Agrahara Whitefield. The petitioner, C J Singh, challenged CFE’s propriety contending that approach road was too narrow to support additional traffic of 206 flats being constructed by Athashri Paranjpe Schemes.
HC seeks report
The HC Division Bench sought the State Government and Central Bureau of Investigation’s responses to a PIL seeking CBI probe into alleged land grabbing and violations of building bye-laws by Joseph Chacko, owner of Crown Plaza International Hotels and Resorts. The petition, filed by Athina 3rd Stage Site Owners Welfare Association and Athina Township Welfare Society, stood adjourned to June 2.
