CM’s honour for 76 cops
Seventy six policemen from different cadres - from additional superintendents to constables - have been recommended for the Chief Minister’s medal for 2007.
Some of those recommended for medals are:
R Ramesh, Additional SP, Mysore; Rajashekhar, SP, Motor Transport Organisation, Bangalore; M Krishnappa, ACP, Malleswaram sub-division, Bangalore; Chandrashekhar Kalyan, DySP, Fingerprint Bureau; Sachidananda, DySP, Wireless, Bangalore; Venkataswamy, DySP, CoD, Bangalore; Vijay Kumar G S , ACP, CCB, Mysore; Solabheshwarappa M K, DySP, Rural sub-division, Davangere district; Indushekhar M S, DySP, DAR Headquarters, Bellary district; Parashuram Dasharath Gajakosh, DySP, DCRB, Gulbarga; and Ningappa, ACP, VI Bn, KSRP, Gulbarga.
Poll rolls: Get name included
Voters of the 21 constituencies under the BBMP jurisdiction still have a chance to get their names added, deleted or corrected in the electoral rolls.
A two-day special drive will be conducted from April 5 for registration of voters whose names have been left out, said a release from Bangalore District Electoral Officer B S Ramprasad. The final voters’ list was published on March 29 for people to verify. The list has been put up on the notice boards of polling booths and important government offices, the release added.
SHRC fiat for compensation
The State Human Rights Commission on Tuesday directed the State government to sanction Rs 5 lakh to Anudeep (7) whose father was killed by naxals last year.
The SHRC directed the government to keep the amount in fixed deposit under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Chikmagalur until Anudeep attains 18 years.
