Rowdy, 4 others in police net
Bangalore, dhns:

Notorious rowdy Azam alias Brigade Azam (36), a resident of Frazer Town known for hatching conspiracies, landed in the CCB net on Sunday. Sleuths also arrested four of his associates and recovered a huge cache of weapons - two imported revolvers, six revolvers (prohibited) two single shotguns and 16 bullets and 14 swords.
The other accused are: Aslam (40), a resident of RT Nagar, Jullu (30), Mohammad Ali (24) and Ayub Khan (30), all residents of Bharathinagar.
Addressing reporters here on Monday, Police Commissioner N Achutha Rao said with Azam’s arrest, police had thwarted his conspiracy to eliminate underworld rowdy Tanveer. Police has also nipped in the bud the possible gang wars.  Azam had made all preparations to eliminate Tanveer and had even sought the help of Mohammad Ali, a notorious contract killer from Lucknow, Mr Rao said.
Azam had reportedly stored the weapons in two cars and parked them in front of Airlines Hotel on Madras Road. He met Ali along with his associates inside the hotel and and finalised the plan. As soon as Azam, his associates and Ali came out of the hotel, police arrested them.
Javed, a close associate of Azam, was hacked to death in 2006. Azam suspected Tanveer had carried out the act and was planning to kill him since then.
Joint-commissioner (crime) Gopal B Hosur said various types of weapons, including revolvers, were being supplied to Bangalore from north India.
Rowdies detained
Meanwhile, Bangalore West Division police secured 318 rowdy elements till Monday night. Police have constituted special teams to nab rowdy elements.
Police have also prepared a list of other criminals who are likely to create law and order problems and are keeping a close watch on their activity.
Police met family members of rowdy-sheeters at Basaveshwarnagar, Kamakshipalya, Vijayanagar, Magadi Road and JJ Nagar and asked them to convince rowdy-sheeters not to indulge in criminal activity.
Police is also closely monitoring activities of Korangu gang, Machcha gang, Kothi Rama gang, Hande Kumar gang, Kalagachchu Seena gang, Mulam gang, Altaf gang and Aareef gang.

The police is ineffective in it's duties and responsibilities. They are well aware of each and every rowdy elelment and the whereabouts of all rowsies. But keep silent!!!!?The political pressure is a factor that forces the police to keep quite. If the Police is made independent of politicians like the judicairy but under a very strict minister, then the police will function effectively. How did the police know that the Azam and gang is sitting in the airlines hotel?Did they dream? No,they know what is
