2 youths drown in lake
Two youthS drowned in a lake in Bidadi police station limits on Sunday. They are: Nanda Kumar (22), a resident of Cauvery Layout, Nagarbhavi, and Srinivasa (25) a resident of Annapurneshwari Layout. According to the police, they along with four others went boating in Ramasandra lake. However, the boat overturned due to overload. Kumar and Srinivasa drowned as they didn’t know swimming, while the others swam to safety. The bodies were fished out on Monday.

Man kills wife
A woman was strangled to death by her husband at her Banashankari residence on Sunday. She has been identified as Nagarathna. Police she was married to Shekhar, a bamboo dealer, for 14 years. The couple have three sons. Of late, Shekhar allegedly used to harass his wife for money.

Woman ends life
A housewife committed suicide by hanging at her Cholanayakanahalli residence on Monday. She has been identified as Chitra (22). Her husband Shanth Kumar (25), a provision store owner, has been arrested. Chitra’s father Badrinath has lodged a complaint of dowry harassment.

5 held for murder
The South Division police cracked the murder case of Kumar alias STD Kumar, who was hacked to death on April 14. Five persons were arrested in this connection. They are: C M Vinay alias Vini (24), a resident of Malgal Nagarbhavi; Shankar (19), of Chamarajpet; Manja (19), of Rudrappa Garden; Shiva (19), of Kasturbanagar; and Loky (19), of Vithalnagar.
