A shop for campaign material
DH News Service,Bangalore:
Planning to buy a Congress party flag? Or a BJP saree? How about a JD(S) T-shirt? Or a BSP cap?

Planning to buy a Congress party flag? Or a BJP saree? How about a JD(S) T-shirt? Or a BSP cap?
Come straight to Rajajinagar 3rd Block. The flag will cost Rs 3.5, the saree with a party symbol, Rs 130. The T-shirt with symbol or picture of your favourite leader will cost you Rs 35 or more.
Ananth, a businessman, has set up an exclusive shop for election campaign material. Material for the Congress, the BJP, the JD(S) and the BSP are available at his shop. Besides you can also get Kannada flags here.
Ananth is in the business for the last 12 years. He has been setting up the shop during elections in State. However, his business has taken a severe beating this time, mainly due to the restrictions placed by the Election Commission on use of banners, posters and buntings. “In 2004, I did a business close to Rs 25 lakh. Plastic bunting were allowed then. This year only cloth is used for campaign material. The business has come down drastically,” he told Deccan Herald.
Parties place orders as and when they need campaign material. “We have material for all major parties. However, quantity of material depends on orders we receive. I hope once filing of nomination papers are over there will be an increase in demand for materials,” he said.
