The protest which started on Monday, had many followers of Nagaraju starting their rally from the house of Nagaraju. However, they were stopped by the police before they entered the town.
Prohibitory orders
On Monday, Section 144 was in force as per the orders from the DC. The prohibitory orders continued on Tuesday too. In spite of this, the protesters on Monday had burnt the effigy of former CM Dharam Singh.
On Tuesday, the irked mob burnt two autorickshaws and search operations are on for the miscreants. However, the situation was brought under control due the police intervention.
In the backdrop of the violence, DySP H S Manjunath has camped in the town.
Kasaba Block Congress Committee President M V Hanumanthaiah said that the denial of ticket to Nagaraju followers vexed them and has requested the KPCC to rectify the mistake and issue ticket to Nagaraju.
Else, he warned that all the members of taluk KPCC, district and taluk panchayat members, gram panchayat members will resign.
Leaders K Y Nanje Gowda, S N Raghunath, Jayalakshmi, Munishame Gowda, B R Srinivas, B K Narayanaswamy and others were also present.
