The other major Special Economic Zone proposals to come up for consideration of the Board of Approval include IT and biotech zones by Ansal Properties and Infrastructure and an IT and ITeS zone by DLF Commercial Developer in Uttar Pradesh.
Bangalore International Airport’s proposal is for a 113 hectare Special Economic Zone, while Gokaldas Images Infrastructure’s 10 hectare IT Special Economic Zone is also listed for the BOA’s meeting on April 30.
The government has so far granted 453 formal approvals for Special Economic Zones, of which 207 have been notified and are at various stages of implementation and operation.
Meanwhile, DLF on Wednesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tamil Nadu government to set up a Rs 1,500 crore Special Economic Zone at Taramani.
The project would come up on 26.64 acre plot and taken up in two phases.
