Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, he informed that RHS is fielding its candidates in as many as 100 constituencies throughout the State out of which 56 have already been nominated. Srinivas Achar of Muddur will be contesting from Byndoor in Udupi district and the party is supporting Independent candidate Nagesh Rao in Kaup.The probable candidates for Udupi, Karkala and Kundapur will be shortlisted soon, he added.
Mr Muthalik also informed that the main agenda in the party’s poll manifesto is to eradicate corruption throughout the State and to introduce measures to eliminate untouchability which still exists in its terror form in the country.
Asserting that the party is based on ‘Hinduthva’ principles, he said that politics should be exploited for the purpose of preserving the basic principles of ‘Hinduthva’ rather than vice versa and added that terrorism and naxalism are the two major evils that have deeply rooted in the country.
Mr Muthalik said that rural development will be given main priority along with promoting cattle based agriculture there by favouring organic fertilisers.
Expressing his anguish over the upcoming coal based thermal power project in Nandikur and Yellur area, he said that the party unconditionally opposes the project and would prefer to lend its support for those who are against the project. Nagarjuna Virodhi Horata Samithi President Vijay Kumar Hegde was present.
In Puttur
Addressing the activists of Sri Rama Sene in Puttur in the evening, Mr Muthalik said that his party would extend all support to Shakuntala Shettyif she contest independently.
