As per the order of the Election Commission, the voters must mandatorily possess the election ID card with photographs to cast their votes in the first phase of the elections. In case of the voter has not received the voter’s ID with photo, then they can caste their votes by submitting either of the 17 other documents.

The documents are passport, driving license, Pan Card, Service ID card issued by the Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertaking and Public Limited companies, pass books from the banks or Kisan pass books, students’ ID Card, property documents with photographs such as registered deeds etc, ration card with photograph, caste certificate, pension documents, ex-servicemen pension pass books, certificates issued to the widows of Ex-Servicemen, Freedom fighter’ ID Card. The weapon license and disabled certificate, Sandhya Suraksha cards, job cards of NREG and Yashashwi card dated within 31.03/008 will be valid.
