Mixed response seems to prevail in all the constituencies in the Tumkur district. In some areas BJP, while in some of the constituencies the Congress and the JD(S) seem to have a stronghold. The political scenario will be clear after the filing of the nomination papers for which Wednesday is the last day.
Though the presence of any political party is still not felt in any of the constituencies in the district, the influence of JD(S) is quite strong in rural areas predominated by the vokkaligas. However, in urban areas dominated by the Veerashaivas, Brahmins, and other communities the influence of BJP can be felt.
Cong dull
Moreover, the presence of Congress seems dull in front of the BJP and JD(S).However, the Congress seems determined to win atleast a few important seats in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Eventhough the filing of nomination papers has been completed, the internal bickering in the Congress party does not seem to come to an end.
Moreover, several activists accused two Congress leaders for the deterioration of the Congress party in the district.
There were several aspirants in the Congress party and most of them comprised the youth.
However, not even a single ticket has been given to the youth from the Congress party.
Amidst all these the streak of rebellion in the Congress is strong.
There seems to be a huge following of supporters for Mr Venkataramanappa, who was denied the Congress ticket.
The Congress ticket has instead been given to Gayathri Devi. Thus, one can have a clear political scenario only after May 1.
