Rise In D A, Cut In Transport Charges
Bangalore, April 23.
Union Defence Minister, V K Krishna Menon told the employees of the Hindustan Aircraft Factory here this evening that it was not the intention of the Government to suppress any trade union movement, discourage collective hargaining and victimise any worker for participating in legitimate trade union activities.
Addressing the workers within the factory premises, Mr Menon, assured them that he would recommend to the Board of Management certain concessions.
‘Mysore Has Not Infringed 1892 Pact’
New Delhi, April 23.
The distribution of the waters of what some members described as the dry Palar River between the States of Madras and Mysore figured prominently during the question time in the Lok Sabha today.
The Deputy Ministers of irrigation and Power Mr J Hathi told Mr N R Muniswamy that the Government of Mysore had not infringed the agreement extend into between the two States in 1892 over the distribution of the waters of rhe river.

Akalis Not For Coalition Govt
Amritsar, April 23.
Akali Dal Chief Harchand Singh Longowal today ruled out at Akali-Congress (I) coalition Government in Punjab
Mr Jasdev Singh Jassowal, Congress (I) MLA, who had called on Sant Longowal yesterday, had mooted the idea of a coalition between the two political parties.
In a statement, Sant Longowal asked how there could be a coalition with the Congress (I) Government which, he alleged, had been “discriminating against Punjab and the Sikhs.”
