This is refers to the BMTC buses running in the city showing safety apathy for its passengers even after bringing to its notice to one of the staff, conductor, about the danger about to happen. About two weeks back I happen to travel in 401K which plies from Yelahanka to Kengeri. It was in the evening time that I happen to occupy a seat at the remote / last rows at the back where while in one of the cross roads the bus was taking a turning and at that point of time I along with another person noticed that a broken glass below the roof top at left hand had side of the bus was about to crack fully and we expected it to fall on the passengers sitting/standing close by and one of the passengers happened to be aged never minding to see his safety. It seemed like this glass was already broken earlier and the left over broken pieces still clinging on to the frame posing danger to the passengers. Then after sometime I brought this to the notice of the conductor, whose name I do not know before alighting from the bus. Then again after a few days say 2 to 3 days I happened to travel in the same bus in the evening and to my utter surprise with shock have seen the danger still hanging there happily. Who knows the broken glass pieces may be still be laying happily in the same place courtesy BMTC and its staff even today. One of the grim situations is that where it could have been avoided at least after bringing it to the notice of the staff. It is high time that safety procedures are followed in letter and spirit as a few weeks back only we have seen so many colourful littered advertisements on safety being displayed on its buses.
