Samuel scored a facile 6-1, 6-4 win over the Andhra Pradesh player. The Karnataka youngster slackened a bit in the second set, but recovered quickly to floor the fancied Gautam.

Meanwhile, Sagar Manjunath continued his giant-killing act en route to the semifinals. Conqueror of fifth seed Bagirath in the opening round, Manjunath accounted for second-seeded S Kamal. Manjunath suffered lapses in concentration in the second set, but rallied splendidly to score a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 victory. Tamil Nadu's V Sudarshan and S Karan of Karnataka too made it to the last-four stage.

In the under-14 section, top-seeded Kashyap Ashok of Karnataka breezed into the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-2 win over compatriot Anthony Savio. Andhra Pradesh's Rohit S too made the last four grade with a 6-4, 6-4 verdict over Md Abrar of Karnataka.
